Blue Economy Analyst

Scope of Work:

  • Provide technical inputs on blue economy as part of land- and seascape management in national development planning at Bappenas
  • Provide support in analysing climate resilience and biodiversity of coastal an marine ecosystem at Bappenas, including the state of biodiversity, feedback loop with human activities and blue economy
  • Support brown issues/pollution analysis at coastal and marine area and open body of water such as river and/or lake
  • Research and provide information on coastal and marine biodiversity to align the land- and seascape management activities with the national agenda in Indonesia Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP)
  • Support the substantial bridging on the integration of land- and seascape planning between national and sub-national activities using data supported by partners and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on coastal and marine activities, including with local governments, consortium partners, and local communities
  • Develop communication materials such as speech and presentation material on land- and seascape and provide input on coastal-marine topics
  • Support the preparation of events, such as workshops, FGDs under SOLUSI project, as well as ensure that the events are well arranged (eg. Letter draft, concept note, and potential participants)
  • Arrange, facilitate, and document coordination meetings between GIZ, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, and relevant stakeholders (eg. prepare online meeting platform, minutes of meeting, collect required materials, and recording)
  • Act as liaison of the project and GIZ/s contact point to Directorate of Environment, including maintain regular coordination and update, facilitate smooth communication, as well as setting up the required online and offline meetings, both for technical and administrative requirement
  • Manage a knowledge sharing platform (shared folder) between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and GIZ
  • Coordinate with GIZ and the Directorate of Environment on daily basis to ensure the implementation of the tasks
  • Support different activities under the Directorate of Environment.

Qualifications of Proposed Staff:

  • General qualifications:
    a. Education: bachelor’s degree in natural resources management, marine and fisheries, environment, or other related fields
    b. Professional experience: 5 years of professional experience in the environment sector, at least 1 year in marine and fisheries program
  • Experience in the region/knowledge of the country
    Two (2) years of experience in projects in national and subnational level
  • Language skills
    Business fluency in English B2
